Tamar Island Wetlands Centre

Wheelies Comments – A great place to get out in the sun and amongst the birdlife. You can get out all the way to the island on a solid boardwalk. Some boards maybe a little un even but not enough to bring you to a halt just be mindful. Part of the way along you can also go on the other side track to get to the bird hide. The bird hide is easy yo get into with no steps. At the end of the board walk you’ll get to the main island. There is a gravel path, take it to the left and that will lead you to the picnic area. I happily made it all the way along in my manual chair without assistance. There is a toilet at the visitor centre at the beginning of the track. There is a few designated disabled car spots in the car park, clearly marked.
